Ledbetter Beach

Local artist and Art Explorers teacher, Michele Zuzalec, created this beautiful beach scene of Ledbetter Beach for use in our curriculum this fall. Students do the drawing in flair pen and then use water and paintbrush to create shadows and dark/light contrast.

Halloween Family Night 2014

These girls are in process of creating leaf collage and design. First they examine shapes of leaves and then decide which leaves can be used to form images.

Spider Leaf Art

Halloween Family Night! This project involved using leaves of all colors and shapes to make designs, creatures, or abstract art. Kyle made a spider and pumpkin!
Do Projects Repeat?

No! Each session is a new set of projects. Students can join us in Kindergarten and stay through 6th grade, and never see the same project twice!

What do you do?

Clicking through our blog is a great way to see past projects we’ve done. Throughout the year, we teach the fundamentals of art and drawing, and explore painting, sculpture, print-making, collage, and mixed media using a variety of artist quality media. We also provide theme based summer camps, a gift-making camp in December, and a spring break camp.

Who are the teachers?

Art Explorers teachers are a combination of teaching artists and current or future elementary teachers. All of our instructors go through comprehensive training on our art teaching process. All of our instructors are fingerprinted and cleared through the CA Department of Justice.

Who can attend?

We teach art to students K-8 in our after school programs (held either on the school campus or at our art studio). We also provide private classes for children, teens or adults at our art studio.

Do I bring anything?

No, Art Explorers provides all artist-quality supplies. You may wish to purchase a t-shirt or an apron, but that is optional.
